Professor Clive Kay one of top 50 NHS Chief Executives
13 April 2022 - King’s CEO was named in the Health Service Journal’s list
Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has been ranked in the Health Service Journal’s list of top 50 NHS Trust Chief Executives.
Professor Kay joined King’s as Chief Executive in 2019, and is one of only two doctors to feature in the HSJ’s list published today (13 April 2022).
It is the first time Professor Kay has featured in the HSJ’s top 50 since joining King’s, having featured in previous HSJ rankings during his time as Chief Executive of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Professor Kay was Chief Executive at Bradford between 2015 and 2019. A radiologist by background, he was Clinical Director of Radiology at Bradford from 2001-2006, and the Trust’s Medical Director between 2006-2014.
Prior to working in Bradford, he was a Visiting Associate Professor of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina, a previous Member of Council of the Royal College of Radiologists, and former Chairman of both the Royal College of Radiologist’s Scientific Programme Committee and the British Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
In addition to his role at King’s, Professor Kay is the lead CEO for Imaging in London, and lead CEO for the Acute Provider Collaborative in south-east London.
