Angela Helleur has been appointed as the Site Chief Executive for Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and South Sites, part of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Angela has held the role on an interim basis since September this year, but was appointed to the substantive position following a competitive process, and interviews this week. She joins the Trust from the South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB), where she was Chief Nursing Officer.
Angela has over 40 years’ experience in the NHS, having originally trained as a nurse in Exeter, before working as a midwife based at King’s College Hospital.
She has held a number of senior management roles during her career to date, including as Chief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. She has also held a number of regional and national NHS senior management roles.
Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive for King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, welcomed Angela’s appointment. He said:
“I am delighted that we have appointed Angela to this key leadership role on a substantive basis. She has proved a great addition to Team King’s in her role as Interim Site CEO for PRUH and South Sites, and I am confident she will continue to support our efforts to improve care for local patients, and champion the staff who deliver vital services for the communities we serve.”
Angela said:
“I am really pleased to be joining the Trust on a permanent basis, and I have already met a range of fantastic people at the PRUH and South Sites, as well as across the wider Trust, and partner organisations we work with. I’ve really enjoyed my recent role with the South East London ICB, but this is another exciting opportunity for me, and I am looking forward to playing my part in improving the services we provide here at the Trust.”
