Pregnancy loss
We understand that the loss of a pregnancy can be an incredibly difficult and emotional journey. Our dedicated team is here to provide compassionate care, support, and guidance to you and your loved ones during this challenging time.
You will be cared for by the maternity team on labour ward from 16 weeks during a pregnancy loss.
Our specialist bereavement midwives will work with the wider team to provide care and support that is most suited to your needs, depending on the circumstances of your loss. This could include, but is not limited to, the fetal medicine team, midwives, obstetricians, chaplains, and the mortuary team.
Together, we aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can openly express your feelings, receive personalised care, and find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your grief. Our bereavement midwives will provide support to you for as long as you need after the loss of your baby.

If you are under 16 weeks pregnant and experience symptoms of a miscarriage, contact the Early Pregnancy Unit or visit your nearest Emergency Department (A and E).
