South London train disruption

18 October 2024 - We plan to run all patient services as normal during the planned industrial action from 26 October to 1 November

Trains in south London will be disrupted from Saturday 26 October to Friday 1 November due to a major track upgrade.

No Overground service at Denmark Hill

No London Overground services will run to or from Denmark Hill station during the works. Please note, Thameslink and Southeastern services to and from Denmark Hill are not affected by these works and will be working as normal.

During the works, there will be no London Overground services between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction via Peckham Rye and there will be no Southern services to or from Peckham Rye.

Disruption to Thameslink service via Loughborough Junction

There will also be no Thameslink trains between Herne Hill and Sutton/Wimbledon from 26 October to 1 November. As a result, trains from Loughborough Junction station that normally run to Sutton/Wimbledon will terminate at Herne Hill.

The works will also impact trains at East Dulwich, North Dulwich and Tulse Hill stations.

We would urge all patients and visitors to our hospitals to plan your journey in advance, and to use alternative methods of transport. The roads will also be busier, so if you are planning to drive, please allow extra time for your journey. It is also important to stress that car parking for patients and visitors is extremely limited at our hospitals.

Train times can be checked on the National Rail website and alternative routes can be found on the Transport for London website.

A full breakdown on the disruption can be found on Southern Railway’s website and Thameslink’s website.
