Cystic fibrosis, adult
What we do
King’s Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Service offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and home care. We offer all our patients a yearly assessment of their condition and treatment plan.
We have a specialist inpatient Adult CF Unit on Lonsdale Ward. We also run three segregated outpatient clinics every week.
We also hold specialist clinics for patients with CF-related diabetes. Our specialist nurses, working together with physiotherapists and dieticians, provide a home care service. Outpatient appointments take place in the Venetian Building.
We manage CF-related complications with the support of King’s specialist diabetes, liver, microbiology, gastroenterology, physiology, cardiothoracic, and radiology services.
We take part in several multi-centre clinical trials and have an active clinical research programme.
In an emergency
If your problem is life-threatening, go to your local Emergency Department (ED or A and E) immediately. They can contact King’s Adult CF team for advice and further information.
