Biography
Philip trained as a social worker at Middlesex University, following a specific palliative care pathway in his final year. After undertaking local authority social work with adults for four years, he became a specialist palliative care social worker for seven years, working in both hospice and community palliative care settings.
Alongside working full time, Philip trained as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist at Thames Valley University and then as a cognitive behaviour psychotherapist at London Metropolitan University.
After qualifying as a therapist, Philip worked for four years in cancer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and for the last ten years in Haematology at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the Haemato-Oncology Psychological Therapies Service.
