Learning from deaths

In March 2017, the National Quality Board published their report Learning from Deaths, setting out requirements for all NHS Trusts to standardise and improve how they learn from deaths and engage with bereaved families and carers.

At King’s, a systematic approach to reviewing patient deaths has been an integral part of our quality improvement work for many years. You can read about our approach in the King's Mortality Monitoring Policy.

The National Quality Board is a partnership between the Care Quality Commission, NHS Improvement and NHS England.
