King’s appoints Chief Financial Officer

26 November 2024 - Roy Clarke has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at the Trust on a substantive basis following an eight-month secondment at the Trust

Before joining King’s, Roy worked at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he was Chief Financial Officer from April 2020.

Prior to joining the team at Norfolk and Norwich, Roy held a number of Board positions within the NHS, including as Chief Financial Officer at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Roy is a Chartered Management Accountant and is also a Trustee at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He has also worked as an Executive Reviewer for the Care Quality Commission.

Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, welcomed Roy’s appointment, saying:

“Having worked with Roy for the last eight months, I am delighted that he is joining the Trust Board on a substantive basis.

“Roy has played a key role in helping the Trust stabilise our financial position, and I know he is committed to helping us deliver further improvements for the benefit of patients, and local communities.”

Roy added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at King’s so far, and I am looking forward to being part of our improvement journey going forward.”

Roy was appointed to the role on a substantive basis following a competitive recruitment process.
