#NewProfilePic for April 2022
01 April 2022 - Every month, a different member of staff will be our #NewProfilePic on social media.
Our new staff profile for April 2022 is Mark Dalauidao, Modern Matron in Infection Prevention and Control. Mark has been working at King’s since January 2016. He told us why he likes working at King’s: “I like how they support their staff, especially with career development particularly if they see a potential in you.”
“Working as a Matron in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) at King’s does not limit your role in one unit or one client group. As a team, we look after the whole Trust, supporting and managing all issues related to infection control.
With each role at King’s being unique, Mark shared his memorable moment: “The pandemic was definitely a memorable moment. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to work and experience managing outbreaks at this large scale. Every day is different, different infections to manage, different issues to solve and different people to deal with.”
“I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of hand hygiene. The COVID-19 virus is still out there and it won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Observe good hand hygiene, and ensure all IPC measures are adhered to.”
April is also Stress Awareness Month, and we asked Mark what his advice would be to help with stress. He said: “Stress will always linger around. Always try and look into the positive angle of every stressor you encounter, and access support if you need it.”
