#NewProfilePic for March 2024
01 March 2024 - Every month, a different member of staff will be our #NewProfilePic on social media
This March, meet our new staff profile, Dr Aastha Mattoo, Junior Clinical Fellow at the Princess Royal University Hospital.
Dr Matto has been part of King’s for more than two years. Reflecting on her time here, she said: “It’s an honour to be working with King’s; it’s a huge organisation that fills me with pride.
“Believing in teamwork, my team always encourages and supports me, which has given me the freedom to approach my colleagues, without hesitation in any situation where I might feel stuck.”
What sets your role apart?
“I’ve always believed that choosing healthcare as a profession makes you special. We have the ability to make patients feel better and at ease, be it mentally or by relieving their symptoms physically.”
Any special moments that you’ve experienced at work?
“The most memorable moments are when, despite long waiting hours, patients express their gratitude and appreciate the hard work of the doctors. These moments truly fulfil our commitment in our jobs and to patient care.”
Is there anything interesting about your role at King’s that people may not have known?
“As an Emergency Department (ED) doctor, we’re often the first contact for patients. It’s satisfying to provide immediate support to those in need.
“Attending to unwell patients and speaking with their families always leaves an impression on our minds. We strive to support them and also support our specialties to whom we may refer the patient to. As doctors, we get immense satisfaction when we are able to help our patients.”
