Our car parking arrangements at Denmark Hill are changing
04 June 2021 - From Tuesday 8 June, there will be no general public parking on site at King’s College Hospital
To continue to make sure that patients and visitors attending the hospital site can do so safely, we are introducing additional drop off and collection zones. The zones will be located on Bessemer Road near to the entrances at the Hambleden Wing. People will be able to leave cars unattended for a short time – between ten minutes to two hours dependent on zone – while they chaperone their relative or friend to an appointment. Visitors will also be able to use the drop off and collection zones as required but spaces are limited.
People with valid Blue Badges permits will still be able to continue to park for free in the designated bays and in the time limited drop off and collection zones.
If you would normally park on the hospital site please make different arrangements to attend the hospital if you can. You may need to plan your travel further in advance.
Denmark Hill has lots of links to public transport from South East and Central London. The hospital is well connected on a number of bus routes which run regularly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. More information on this can be found here.
Step free access is available at a number of our local train stations including Denmark Hill station and Brixton station. We’re also requesting that Loughborough Junction station be prioritised for step free access. There are a number of local taxi firms and national taxi apps which you can use to travel to the hospital.
There are a number of cycle racks and storage which can be used by patients and visitors. Please ensure that bicycles are left secured and not in the way of footpaths.
Once you’ve arrived at King’s, our staff and volunteer teams will be able to support you at the Helpdesk and guide you to where your appointment is.
