Roadwork diversions temporarily affect PRUH car park entrance
11 February 2025 - Update, 17 Feb: these roadworks have now been completed.

Roadworks were completed on Saturday 15 Feb. These diversions have now been removed.
From 10pm on Tuesday 11 February, essential works on the A21 (Farnborough Common) will affect the entrance to the PRUH car park. Patients and visitors will be able to enter the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) car park main entrance from one direction only, and some buses routes will be affected, due to essential works.
Patients and visitors will only be able to enter the hospital site by approaching on the A21 from Orpington, and turning right into the car park.
If approaching from Bromley (Hastings Road and Bromley Common) or Hayes, via the A21/A232 junction, patients and visitors will need to follow diversion signage to enter the car park.
Some bus routes that usually come onto the hospital site will not do so while roadworks are taking place. Please allow extra time for bus journeys to the hospital.
Please go to the TfL website for up-to-date information on temporary bus route changes:
- Bus route 261 – currently not stopping in the hospital
- Bus route R3 – currently not stopping in the hospital
- Bus route R4 – is stopping at the hospital. Buses towards PRUH are on diversion for part of the route
- Bus route 358 – buses towards Orpington are on diversion and not currently stopping directly outside the hospital. Buses towards Crystal Palace have not been diverted.
There may be increased traffic congestion and delays in the surrounding area, so please allow extra time when travelling to hospital appointments.
