Planned (elective) treatment
This page gives information about coming hospital care for planned treatment as an inpatient, day case patient, or if you have an outpatient appointment.
Inpatients and day case proceduresWe are carrying out non-urgent inpatient activity and day case surgery as normal, although we are keeping this under regular review.
Inpatients coming in for planned treatment will be requested to take lateral flow or PCR tests before they are admitted. Your clinical team will contact you to provide further information.
If you are coming into hospital, also see:
- the Attending our hospitals page.
- the Who can visit page for information on whether you can have visitors during your stay.
We hold face-to-face outpatient appointments where necessary and practicable. We also conduct video and phone appointments where this is appropriate, to reduce unnecessary visits to our hospitals.
If you have an appointment, we will contact you about whether it is taking place at the hospital, by phone, or by video.
If you have:
- a video consultation, see the Video consultations page
- a face-to-face appointment, see the Attending our hospitals page.
