Treatments for cancer
The cancer types section lists which treatments are most relevant to which cancer type.
We work in partnership as part of South East London Cancer Alliance (SELCA). This means you may be seen at a hospital closer to home for some or all of your care. We tailor all of your care to your needs, depending on the type of cancer you have.
Treatments options include:
- chemotherapy
- radiotherapy
- surgery
- drug or biological therapies
- a transplant
- or a combination of these options.
We may ask you if would like to take part in a research study or a clinical trial as part of your treatment, to help us improve patient care. We only offer this for certain cancer types and/or medical conditions. You can refuse to take part. This will not affect your treatment in any way. If you would like more information about taking part in a clinical trial, please ask your hospital doctor.
