Biography
Devi leads on high-risk pregnancies and complex surgeries in obstetrics including management of placenta accreta spectrum. Her career highlights include setting up an NHS England specialist commissioned regional placenta accreta service at King’s College Hospital and an outpatient induction of labour service for low-risk women as the early adopter of this approach back in 2010.
Devi has a particular interest in venous thromboembolism in pregnancy, management of pregnancy in women with high BMI and induction of labour. She provides care that is personalised to the mother’s individual circumstances and needs, to ensure a smooth pregnancy and safe outcome for the mother and her baby. In both low and high risk pregnancies, she supports women and partners to make choices about their pregnancy and birth.
All through her career she has been involved in risk management and clinical governance. Devi is trained in human factors and safety science through her work with HSIB and is passionate about clinical education and simulation training.
Devi is a clinical adviser for the Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations programme and Co-Chair of the South East London Local Maternity and Neonatal System (SEL LMNS)
