Biography
Dr Cheung qualified from Imperial College London in 2007 with Distinction in Clinical Sciences. She completed her specialist training in London, gaining tertiary hepatology experience at the Royal Free Hospital. She was awarded the prestigious NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship and completed her PhD at Queen Mary University of London. Dr Cheung published on the first use of direct acting antivirals on patients with hepatitis C infection in the UK and the impact on advanced liver disease. She developed an interest in managing patients with advanced cirrhosis and its complications.
Dr Cheung’s clinical focus at King’s College Hospital is to improve the interface between acute medicine and tertiary hepatology for local patients with liver disease, ensuring the highest standards of care for the local population. She also works closely with the regional Advanced Chronic Liver Disease service.
