Biography
Mr Richard Selway was appointed consultant in 2001 at King’s. Initially his role involved the development of epilepsy surgery and movement disorder surgery. Since 2005 he has developed surgery for paediatric movement disorders, especially dystonia, and successfully relocated this service to St Thomas’ hospital in 2016.
Mr Selway had one of the largest epilepsy practices in the UK for both children and adults. He has published extensively, especially on neurostimulation and complex investigations for this condition. He now concentrates on paediatric epilepsy surgery, vagus nerve stimulation and minimal access laser treatment for epilepsy.
Mr Selway mainly sees patients with spinal problems in the neck or the back. His aim is to provide individualised treatments and advice, either operative or non-operative, based on careful clinical assessment.
