Nursing and midwifery
Nurses and midwives are the driving force for delivering new and enhanced ways of working at King’s. So we actively search for people who are innovative, adaptable, and committed to providing great evidence-based care.
How we recruit
Nursing and midwifery posts are advertised on our current vacancies page, and on NHS Jobs.
We advertise temporary roles on our King’s Staff Bank.
We advertise for various specialties and roles throughout the year. Shortlisted applicants are then offered an interview.
Newly qualified nurses and midwives
We run recruitment campaigns two times a year to recruit newly qualified nurses and midwives. We welcome applications from nursing and midwifery students at all universities throughout the UK.
Adverts to apply can be found on our current vacancies page and on NHS Jobs.
All newly qualified nurses and midwives complete our Preceptorship Programme training support scheme in their first year with us.
Band 5 nurses
We advertise a number of Band 5 roles each year, in a range of care groups and settings.
We want you to have a satisfying career at King’s, with access to a wide range of opportunities. So, three times a year, we give Band 5 nurses the opportunity to transfer internally within the Trust to another clinical area or specialty without going through the usual external recruitment process. Return to nursing practice (RTP)
We support and encourage all nurses who want to return to clinical practice. We have partnerships with the University of Greenwich and Kingston University to support this programme.
RTP applicants can be supported in any of our 5 sites across south London and Bromley. All applicants for RTP are considered individually, to provide a bespoke clinical experience in the clinical area of their choice where possible. Find out more information about Return to Practice.
Training and education
We work with a number of universities to support pre-and postgraduate students.
We are committed to supporting all clinical staff through continuous professional growth, by offering a wide range of development opportunities.
Grants are also available to support further training.
